Kim has deep roots in the Sacramento Area. She grew up in Folsom, graduated from Folsom High School, and her family still resides in the area.
After high school, Kim earned her Bachelors of Art in Political Science at UC Santa Barbara in 2003. She returned to Sacramento and graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2007. After law school, Kim worked for the Sacramento County Public Defender’s Office representing juveniles in Juvenile Delinquency Court. She then represented victims of crime as the Director of the Victims of Crime Resource Center at McGeorge, and conducted Internet safety and anti-bullying presentations to local Sacramento schools.
Prior to opening her own law firm, Kim was a partner with the Law Offices of Buchholz & Ferrera. She presides over administrative and mental health proceedings as a hearing officer, is a board member of Women Lawyers of Sacramento, belongs to California Women Lawyers, and is the 2021/2022 PTO President of Crocker/Riverside Elementary School.
Kim was named a Rising Star for Estate Planning and Probate by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2018. She also was named 2016 Best of the Bar by the Sacramento Business Journal, and a 2018, 2017, and 2016 Top Lawyer by Sacramento Magazine.
Kim lives in Land Park with her husband, daughter, son, and dog.
